Mission Viejo Real Estate
Mission Viejo is an upscale and educated planned master
community. Started in the mid-60s, Mission Viejo has hills,
valleys, lakes and views. Although it probably won't appeal to
those looking for quaint, rustic or funky, as a suburban community
for families, it's hard to beat.
Mission Viejo real estate is a mixed bag: one-bedroom
apartments to mansions, with the predominant size being
three-bedroom. About 39% of the housing is 3-bedroom, 26% is
4-bedroom and 23% two-bedroom.
The earlier homes were built with wood shingles. Not allowed
anymore. Newer homes have tile roofs. There are a few gated
communities, some aimed at seniors.
The town is big on sports and recreation: 140 playing
fields, soccer center, swim center, camps, Boys and Girls Clubs,
teen center, 40 parks, two recreation centers, seniors center,
tennis center, etc. Classes, theater and other activities are
available at the local community college.
It seems like every time you turn a corner, there's another
playing field. When visiting friends, invariably, one of the
directions will be: "turn left at the tennis courts."
